The Mew Catching Trick

Yes! Mew does exist. The only sure way I know of to catch Mew (Mew is the mother of the Pokemon, Mewtwo) is by using a GameGenie. I borrowed a GameGenie from my friend, and through searching the Internet, found the code to type in to make mew appear in a certain field if grass. If you own a Gameboy GameGenie, or know someone who does, insert your Pokemon cartridge into it and type this code into it at the appropriate screen. If you don't have a GameGenie you could search your local newspaper or one on the Internet, for a GameGenie for sale. The company that makes them is called galoob.
BUT WAIT, I TAKE NO RESPOSEABILITY IF IN THE UNLIKELY INNCIDENT THAT YOUR SAVED GAME IS ERRASED, OR A GAME MELT DOWN.
Don't expect to get the Pokémon you wanted right off the bat. You will probably have to fight a few fights before you get the one you wanted. These codes replace 3 of the 10 Pokemon in the area with the one you want to fight, because of that it might take many fights before it will come up. EXPECT IT TO TAKE SOME TIME. YOU MUST FIGHT IN THE GRASSY AREA WEST OF CERULEAN CITY. THIS IS THE ONLY AREA THESE CODES WILL WORK.
